The DTRIS File, Open Conflict

Preface

In book one of The DTRIS File; I tried to set the stage for the rest of the series. There are many places, events, and characters. As in real life, everything is happening at the same time. In book two of The DTRIS File, things heat up. In book one, you learn who, what, when, where and why things happen. The reader will now find out the cause and result of three simultaneous wars. You will find out the common thread between these conflicts and how they get remedied.

In Open Conflict, all the main characters return. Tango and Lacy are at Borkma Water Hole with Dave, Mary Beth and the Intelant, Si, a new creature created by the Advocate, Braken Borse. They are getting ready for a trip to the Blue Mountains, following the advice of Si with his connection to the mysterious Advocate. Dank Somber has rescued Mary Beth from Earth while in the clutches of a SIM posing as Lewis Chester. Mr. Somber has transported her to Cannan while juggling his many not so legal business ventures. Emperor Molar is still trying to deal with Dank Somber’s rule-bending and the overall security of Text Keeper Valley, including the Cannan Penal colony. Tarsos is busy defending the Nobel archive at Text Keeper Complex after shooting down an unmanned Sangar warship. Loza seems to be spending more time at the Text Keeper Complex with Tarsos than her Healing Center.  Where is Dave’s friend Wendy? The last Dave knew is that she was with Lewis Chester near Solan, and the last Solan knew was that she was on a small cloaked cruiser with Sarah trying to escape Solan.

The Ictol get accused of creating SIM imposters penetrating galactic security.  They are also initially blamed for a blockade maneuver to strand Solan ships on the planet’s surface. As it turns out, the Ictol vessels, at the Nobel/Ictol joint siege-breaking exercise for Solan, were run by the Sangar. Things only get worse after the discovery of Earing remnants, having been told that the Ictol were the ones who destroyed their homeworld, Sheol, have joined forces with their real enemy, Sangar. They are now amassing troops somewhere between Earing and Cannan space.

After the raid on Text Keeper Valley with a sophisticated nanoprobe infestation, most of the Nobel colony communications are down. During this same time, the Ictol are out looking for a homeworld to replace their deteriorating planet. They are drawn into war by a space minefield established by the Sangar from their newly developed military staging area on the uninhabited planet Lesus.  The Ictol are successful in capturing the staging area but discover that the planet’s atmosphere is artificially maintained.

The Ictol, Nobel, and Solan ally on the Nobel homeworld of Gragon to fight the Sangar but discover their alliance outnumbered and the Ictol fleet at Lesus is having trouble returning to the new war front.

In Open Conflict, we discover that the alliance is even worse off than previously thought.  The deployment of a new creature against the Nobel on Cannan and yet another race of beings have joined Sangar and the Earing, with VorCaveat as their leader to destroy any who oppose his rule.

Whatever happened to Admiral Borsh, Taman, Isfael, Krow and Jemalo? Jemalo is still around but is very old and now works for the Advocate. Admiral Borsh is presumed dead, but Taman is always with us and working with Vizier Lamor. Isfael is long dead, but his legacy carries on in the name of Mary Beth. Krow is dead, or at least his SIM is destroyed. What are things like on Logos Station?  Darla and Jenni are continuing their investigations of Logos Station with their usual flare. Vizier Lamor shows up and joins Braken Morse during a conference.

Open Conflict now starts to move at a steady pace with little wasted time.  If you liked The DTRIS File, Timelines you have to read The DTRIS File, Open Conflict. New characters emerge and catch your interest.
